WACO (March 22, 2013)--A rededication service will be held Sunday at Rachel’s Park Memorial after it was found desecrated earlier this year.

A report was filed with the Waco Police Department in January that hundreds of the 4,000 white crosses reinforced with steel were extensively damaged along with the picket fence enclosing the park.

The park’s main feature, the Tomb of the Unknown Baby, was left undamaged.

On Sunday, a rededication service will be held at the park memorial located at 4720 N. 19th Street from 3 p.m. until 4 p.m.

“This Sunday we invite the Waco Community to come out and participate in a special service that rededicates this park to our gracious Lord and the little ones made in his image,” Rev. Rusty Lee Thomas said.
