WACO (February 7, 2013)--Hawaiian Falls is holding a Polar Plunge Saturday to benefit the Special Olympics of Texas, a nonprofit group that provides year-round sports training and athletic competitions for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.
Adults and children will jump into frigid water and some participants will even be in costume.
The event dives into action at 11 a.m. at the Hawaiian Falls facility on Lake Shore Drive.
On-site registration is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. and is $60 per adult and $30 for children under 18 years old.
Registered plungers will receive a t-shirt from the event.
An awards ceremony will be held after the plunge recognizing the person who raises the most money as well as the best dressed participant.
