WACO (January 14, 2013)--The Texas Hawking Association will hold their field meet this weekend as well as give the public an opportunity to view live hawks, falcons and eagles.
The Texas Hawking Association is a conservation-oriented group of licensed falconers and raptor enthusiasts that promotes the wise use of carnivorous birds in regard to the sport of hunting with falcons or other birds of prey, known as falconry, an organization spokesperson said.
Around 200 falconers are expected to be present at the Clarion Hotel on 4th Street Friday through Monday.
The public will be able to view the birds of prey, take photos and visit with practicing falconers.
