WACO (September 7, 2012)--Flu and pneumonia vaccines will be available at the Waco-McLennan County Public Health District starting Monday.
People can be vaccinated one of four ways: traditional shot, nasal spray, new intradermal shot and the senior vaccine.
The new intradermal shot uses a shorter needle and is injected under the skin instead of in the muscle, health officials said.
The senior vaccine is a higher potency for people over the age of 65.
The cost can range from $20 to $25.
The flu vaccine has been approved for all ages but people at a higher risk of flu should be vaccinated in October, health officials said.
Contact the office at (254) 750-5410 to find out your risk level and to confirm hours of operation.
The clinic is located at 225 W. Waco Drive.
Office hours can vary.
