WACO (March 4, 2013)--Children will create their own recipes during the Kid's Culinary Competition at University High School Tuesday.

Waco ISD and Sodexo Child Nutrition Services will host the annual competition for fourth and fifth grade students.

Students from Waco, Connally, La Vega, and Robinson school districts will compete to create the most healthy, kid-friendly snacks with the help of adults.

Judging begins at 5:30 p.m. and will give students the chance to talk about their recipe.

The competition will be followed by a ceremony for students at the University High Performing Arts Center.

The Kid's Culinary Competition focuses on teaching children about nutrition by helping them make healthy eating choices.
