Waco: Local Group Organizes Drop-Off Locations For Hurricane Victims

WACO (November 6, 2012)--A disaster relief supply drive, organized by Mercury One Waco, offers 8 drop-off locations through Wednesday afternoon.

The “Hearts of Texas for New York and surrounding areas” drive includes filling a trailer full of supplies like food and hygiene items and hand-delivering them to people in need on the east coast.

The truck, trailer and crew were donated by a company in the Waxahachie area.

The items will be placed in a truck in Waco and taken to Waxahachie before being transported to New York.

Drop-off locations include: Allen Samuels Dodge Chrysler Jeep on West Loop 340 in Waco, Bush’s Chicken on Marketplace Drive in Waco, Cornerstone Fellowship Church in Riesel, Valley Mills Express Car Wash in Waco, Regal Car Wash & Kwik Lube in Waco, Smith Quality Motors in Waco and Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church in Gholson.

Two manned locations will be available at Allen Samuels and Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church from 7 a.m. until noon Wednesday.

Suggested donations include: water, nonperishable food items, protein or fruit bars, peanut butter, dried fruit, canned juices, nonperishable pasteurized milk, vitamins, high-energy food, personal hygiene items, infant formula and diapers, and dog and cat food.
