WACO (August 16, 2012)--The first students of the Baylor@MCC co-enrollment program will join with the presidents of the two schools to celebrate the integration on Friday.
Dr. Johnette McKown, president of McLennan Community College, and Ken Starr, Baylor University president, will have dinner with the students to mark the occasion.
The partnership began in October 2011 and offers students the opportunity to complete classes for one or two years at MCC while enjoying the benefits of being a Baylor student, school officials said.
The program is offered to students that qualify for admission to Baylor, however, are unable to attend due to capacity limits.
Students are able to take part in activities at Baylor and have access to all services.
After completing the requirements for the program, the students will be able to attend Baylor.
There are 48 students in the program.
The dinner event is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at the conference center at MCC.
