WACO (December 4, 2012)--The Waco Mammoth Site will open its newest exhibit Wednesday featuring a Columbian mammoth wrist bone and lower back molar from a Camelops.
The bones were discovered on city property at the site.
“Site officials have yet to determine whether the wrist bone is from a previously identified mammoth. However, the tooth represents a newly discovered animal,” a city spokesperson said.
The exhibit is open during regular business hours from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Saturday.
The Waco Mammoth Site is located at 6220 Steinbeck Bend.
