WACO (December 12, 2013) A 19th District Court jury took just 20 minutes Thursday to decide on a life sentence for Allen Latoi Story whom jurors found guilty Wednesday afternoon of the September 2011 stabbing death of Zachary Davis during a domestic violence incident.

It took the jurors less than half-an-hour to find Story guilty Wednesday after two full days of testimony.

“This registered sex offender and seven time convicted felon was given what he deserved today by a McLennan County jury," said Assistant District Attorney J.R. Vicha.

"The friends and family of Zachary Davis finally received the justice they needed to rest easier and move forward with their lives," he said.

During the first phase of the trial the jury learned Davis, 25, was killed as he was trying to protect his sister from harm during a domestic violence incident at the Kate Ross Apartments.

Testimony showed Davis was trying to stop a man from choking his sister as the two were fighting.

When Davis intervened, he was stabbed and killed.

Story, 43, already convicted of seven felonies prior to this trial, faces a punishment of from 25 to 99 years or life in prison.
