WACO (October 24, 2013) A man was kidnapped, robbed and assaulted early Thursday morning by a group of men who attacked him in a downtown parking lot.

The 23-year-old victim was accosted in the parking lot behind 4th Street and Franklin Avenue, forced into a gold Buick Le Sabre, driven to an Automatic Teller Machine across town and forced to withdraw cash from the machine, Waco police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton said.

After the victim withdrew $80 from the ATM, his attackers beat him and threatened him with a gun, Swanton said.

The robbers took the $80 along with some personal items from the victim, Swanton said.

When police were called to the ATM at New Road and Valley Mills Drive, they found the victim and called EMS because he had suffered injuries.

Swanton said the victim was taken by ambulance to a Waco hospital for evaluation and treatment.

The victim described the robbers as three black men, ranging in age from 19- to 22-years-old, Swanton said.
