WACO (November 8, 2012)--A $74,663 grant has been awarded to Waco Community Development by the Waco Foundation in support of an initiative to bring people together to help make their community a healthier place to live.
The East Waco Community Development Plan works to transform neighborhoods by partnering with schools, nonprofits, businesses and congregations to develop strategies for improvement.
Waco Community Development has built 46 new homes, renovated 16 and helped 187 families become homeowners, investing more than $4,000,000 in north and east Waco, a Waco Community Development spokesperson said.
