WACO (September 17, 2012)--The 35-time National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) Drag Racing winner, Antron Brown, will visit students at TSTC Wednesday and speak to them about education and career choices.
Brown, 35, is the only racer in NHRA history to win races and lead the standings in both Top Fuel and Pro Stock Motorcycle, a college spokesperson said.
Brown is the driver of the Don Schumacher Racing-owned Matco Tools dragster and has a career-best speed of more than 325 mph.
The free event from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. is open to the public.
Students and others in attendance will get an up-close look at the 7,000-horsepower Matco Tools Top Fuel dragster and race hauler as part of the Matco Tools TechEd program, a spokesperson said.
The event will take place at the Student Services Center parking lot on campus.
Brown will compete in the 2012 NHRA Texas Fall Nationals Drag Racing Series which begins Thursday at the Texas Motorplex in Dallas .
