Waco: New University High Chosen For Several Awards

WACO (September 27, 2012)--Waco ISD has been notified that the new University High School construction project was selected for several awards in the 2012 Texas Association of School Administrators–Texas Association of School Boards school architecture competition.

PBK Architects, who designed the new school, submitted the project for consideration by an architectural awards jury.

The awards include Architectural Awards of Excellence with distinction in Value, Design, Educational Appropriateness and Innovation.

Construction began in 2009 and was completed in 2011 as part of an approved $172.5 million bond election.

The estimated cost of the project is $70 million.

The school is located at New Road and Old Robinson Road.

The project will be on display at the 2012 TASA-TASB Joint Annual Convention to begin Friday in Austin.
