WACO (February 22, 2013)--A partnership between Meals & Wheels and the Animal Birth Control (ABC) Clinic will impact the lives of pets and their owners Tuesday with a free service to high-risk clients.

Volunteer veterinarians, known as Angel Paws, will be providing free preventative health care surgeries and vaccinations to pets of Meals & Wheels high-risk clients.

Residents who are unable to get their pets the care they need due to high medical costs or immobility will not have to worry Tuesday as Angel Paws volunteers will pick up the animals from their homes and take them to ABC Clinic for their treatments.

A local photographer has agreed to take the pets’ pictures as a gift for their owners.

The clinic performs on average 180 surgeries a week and operates as a low-cost alternative to help control the pet population.

Meals & Wheels is a nonprofit organization that provides nourishing home-delivered meals to residents and their pets.
