WACO (February 6, 2013)--Baylor University’s W.R. Poage Legislative Library will take a closer look at Middle Eastern culture with a new photography exhibit open now through mid-May.

“Middle East Patterns: Places, Peoples and Politics” features 150 original photographs from Dr. Colbert Held, a 1938 alumnus of Baylor.

The photographs will give the public a look at Middle Eastern life through the eyes of an average person, not a professional photographer.

In 1989 Held published a book with John Thomas Cummings titled “Middle East Patterns: Places, Peoples and Politics,” now in its fifth edition.

The exhibit takes the name of his book and will be on display through May 15.

The library is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until noon and 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. on the Baylor University campus.
