WACO (December 13, 2012)--The Waco-McLennan County Public Health District received grants totaling nearly $30,000 this week.
A $23,000 grant was provided by the Masterson, Wood fund of the Waco Foundation and $6,845.57 was given by the Cooper Foundation.
The grants will help fund a Community Health Needs Assessment which will measure community needs and health risks as well as identify access to care issues.
The assessment will provide a comprehensive profile of the community’s health status so that health providers know where to concentrate their limited resources, public health district PIO Kelly Craine said.
The last assessment was conducted in 2010.
