Waco: Rocker Ted Nugent, Wife To Raise Money For West With Zumbathon

WACO (July 1, 2013)--A community-wide Zumbathon hosted by rocker Ted Nugent and his wife is planned for Saturday to benefit West.

Former West residents Tammy O’Brien Elliott and Cori Slayder who are now Zumba instructors will help lead the event, along with others, at Baylor University’s Ferrell Center.

Shemane Nugent, Ted’s wife, has been teaching group fitness classes for thirty years and has developed fitness programs for Curves International and Zumba Fitness.

She is a former Baylor University Zumba instructor.

Community members are encouraged to come out to the Ferrell Center Saturday at 3 p.m. to show their support for West while getting fit.

Ted Nugent will kick off the program with a live performance of the National Anthem.

Their goal is to raise $10,000 for the City of West.

So far, $2,468 has been raised.

Admission will cost $15.
