WACO (February 27, 2013)--In preparation for Thursday’s Waco VA Medical Center Creative Arts Festival, veterans are finishing up their ceramics, paintings, wood carvings and more for a chance at being recognized for their creative arts skills.
More than 50 veterans entered more than 100 artistic entries in 27 categories for a chance to compete in the in the national festival in Nevada this October.
The festivals are intended to recognize the progress and recovery made by infirmed veterans through recreational art therapy.
The public is invited to view the artwork which will be on display beginning at 12:30 p.m. in Stracke Auditorium Thursday.
The auditorium is located inside the VA medical center on Memorial Drive.
