WACO (February 28, 2013)--An informational meeting is slated for Saturday in which community members will be trained to assist those affect by natural disasters.
Besides cooking and serving food to disaster victims, The Salvation Army also plans to initiate canteen feeding for the homeless.
Volunteers will be trained to cater to these needs and can expect to deploy locally and nationally if the need arises.
Training will take place from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. at 1225 Jack Kultgen Expressway.
Volunteers will receive training and certification in food handling as well as in mobile feeding canteen operation.
Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
