WACO (July 18, 2012)—Items that were thrown during an argument between a man and a woman late Wednesday morning in a fifth-floor apartment in downtown Waco sailed out a window and onto the street below.
Waco police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton said officers were sent to the Praetorian building just before noon Wednesday after callers reported their vehicles had been hit by items thrown from a 5th floor apartment.
Falling objects struck at least two vehicles including a UPS truck, Swanton said.
Police had to wait for a building manager to gain access to the secure building at South 6th Street and Franklin Avenue and then the two occupants of the apartment refused to open their door.
Once officers got inside the apartment they were able to defuse the disturbance without making any arrests and no one was injured.
The seven-story building has apartments on three upper floors and renovations are underway on the lower floors of the building where more apartments and galleries are set to open this fall.
