WEST (August 6, 2013) -- Tonight at the West City Council meeting, Parker's Park Project addressed the council.
The committee wanted to make sure the money donated to Parker's Park Project was actually going to the park.
The council agreed the money donated to the park would be separate from the money the city is receiving.
"We want to make sure everyone who came out and volunteered their time, money whatever whatever they gave to Parker's Park Project, we want to make sure they know it's specifically going to the park," says Joey Kolar, a member of the project's team.
83 thousand dollars were raised the day of the fundraiser and since then the project has received 25 thousand more dollars.
The committee wants to try to work with the Waco Foundation to come up with a plan to make sure the funds are being allocated specifically to the city park.
They also mentioned they wanted to have a timeline for the plans within the next six months but Mayor Muska says he expects to have one before then.
Once they know where the park will be located, the committee can begin to work out plans for the rebuilding process.
They have also received a lot of different resources that have been donated so they will need to sort through it all to make sure it all gets used to rebuild the city park.
