WEST (September 1, 2011)- The 35th Annual Westfest Polka Festival runs through Sunday.
The festival gets underway Friday night at the West Fair Rodeo Grounds at 5:30 p.m.
The main event Friday night will be the Miss Westfest Contest which gets started at 7 p.m.
Admission for Friday is $12 for adults and free for children under the age of 12.
The Grounds will be open from 5:30 p.m.12:30 a.m. on Friday.
On Saturday the festivities get going at 10 a.m. with a parade through downtown West.
Following the parade the grounds will be open from 11 a.m. to 12:30 a.m.
The final day of Westfest gets going early Sunday at 8 a.m. with the Kolache 5000 fun run.
Following the fun run there will be a Polka mass at 10:15 a.m. at the fair grounds.
The grounds will then be open from 11 a.m. to 12:30 a.m.
Admission for Saturday and Sunday is $8 for adults, $6 for active or retired military members, seniors and children between the ages of 6-12, children under 6 get in free.
There will be separate admission charges for each day of Westfest.
Admission is good for all dances, entertainment and exhibits within the festival.
Parking is $3 per car on festival grounds, and $2 per car across the street from the grounds.
