WOODWAY (November 8, 2012)-An area man and woman were arrested Wednesday in Woodway after police found drugs in a car following a traffic stop.
Watt Williams, III, 37, was held Thursday in the McLennan County Jail in lieu of bonds totaling $5,052, charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana and named in a list of traffic warrants.
Deborah Denise Lefever, 46, was released after posting a $1,000 bond on a charge of possession of controlled substance.
Woodway police Assistant Chief Robert Smith said officers were patrolling at about 4 p.m. Wednesday when they stopped a car that was doing 61 miler-per-hour in a 40-mile-per-hour zone.
Smith said officers obtained consent to search the car, where with the help of a drug dog they found what he described as a significant amount of hydrocodone.
Hydrocodone was also found in a purse and in a small box, as well as a small amount of marijuana.
Officers also determined that Williams was named in outstanding traffic warrants in Bellmead.
