WOODWAY (September 3, 2014) The McLennan County Grand Jury Wednesday indicted a woman in the theft of a large quantity of painkillers from a Woodway nursing home.

Casey Jean Symank, 30, was named in an indictment charging fraud.

She was arrested in May and remains free on $5,000 bond.

An affidavit filed in the case says police began investigating at the Regent Care Center last April after staff there reported a large quantity of prescription drugs was missing from storage rooms at the center.

Ultimately authorities determined that more than $11,800 worth of hydrocodone and other narcotics had been stolen.

Falsified audit records showed the missing drugs had been dispensed to more than 40 patients.
