WOODWAY (September 26, 2012)--A groundbreaking will be held Thursday for a 29,154-square-foot Carter BloodCare facility on Archway Drive.
The building will consolidate the administrative and recruitment offices, mobile staging, training and collections departments and a new blood donation center with opportunity for future growth.
Currently the company operates out of three leased facilities in Waco, a spokesperson said.
The expected cost is $8.5 million.
The location was selected at 206 Archway Drive because of its close proximity to Hillcrest Medical Center and Providence Health Center, as well as its easy access to highways.
Fort Worth-based architectural firm Hahnfield Hoffer Stanford designed and planned the project, a spokesperson said.
Linbeck, also of Fort Worth, will serve as the general contractor and has estimated the facility to be completed a year from the beginning of construction.
The groundbreaking ceremony will begin at 10 a.m.
