City Sued After Removing Atheist Billboard Save Email Print

A | A | A

(December 2, 2008)--The Freedom From Religion Foundation is suing Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. over the city’s alleged role in removing the atheist group's "Imagine No Religion" billboard.

A billboard company took the sign down after the city asked if there was a way to get it removed.

Rancho Cucamonga's redevelopment director says the city had received 90 complaints about the billboard, but the lawsuit says the removal of the billboard message unconstitutionally "conveyed a message that religion is favored, preferred and promoted by the city."
