(December 18, 2008)--Instead of exchanging gifts this Christmas, Casting Crowns lead singer Mark Hall says his family is sending blankets to the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation.
Hall says it's a way to teach his children that Christmas is more about giving than receiving.
Hall, who's also a youth pastor, said his family plans to take part in a church mission trip to the South Dakota reservation next spring.
It will be a return trip.
Casting Crowns has performed at Pine Ridge to help raise money for a children's center on the reservation.
Hall said he has been to India and Africa, but was shocked to see that kind of poverty in America.
