I am a retired US Army E-7. I just find it hard to believe that someone who wears the same uniform would kill their own. It really sadens me. What the Army is really about is those soldiers, wounded as they may be, assist in trying to save their fellow soldiers with little regard for themselves. I'm pround to be a VET and especially proud of those soldiers who fight for my (our) continued freedom. God Bless all of you!! [ Report Abuse ]

To Sarah in Waco: I also hope we hear the truth but I expect to hear lies from him. If he did not want to be deployed, why not just shoot himself. Seems to me he was trying to take out as many soldiers as he could to protect the foreign countries. Maybe I have just lost my mind and do not need to comment. [ Report Abuse ]

First I want to thank those who assured me that this man did not have his military issued firearms. I'm not military so I don't know how the military works; and I really appreciate the assurance from others. I'm still shaking inside with anger though. I'm angry for our military members who were wounded and for those who were murdered. I'm angry that their families have had to go through this also. [ Report Abuse ]

YOu know it bothers me that the MEDIA keeps saying that he was a muslim, race dont matter he still killed my battles and he is human so his relegion has nothing to do with it so they need to stop mentioning that. Anyone could of done it if they snaped regardless of race and relegion. im in the army 2 and we need to provide support to those soldiers family and help them get through this tragety it makes me mad that my battles got killed in garrison and not in theather becuse the war is in theather ad not in garrison. we need to take care of each other and if we see some one has issues we need to provide them with help and right now that is something the army is lackin on but at least they are trying to fix the problem. THE 23RD PSALM: The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures. He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul. He leadeth me in the path of righteousness for His name' sake. Yea, though I walk in the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for thou art with me. Thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies. Thou annointest my head with oil, My cup runneth over. This animal slaughtered the very people who were going to fight for his freedom of religion. The same religion that indoctrinates hate for any person who is not a Muslim. He used our tax dollars for his education and then wanted out of the military. He will meet his maker and I am not talking about his Allah. This is truly the face of the devil who practices a religion of hatred. The military needs to take a long hard look at allowing any Muslims to join the military in any way, shape or form. He evidentily gave many signals concerning his beliefs and proved he was a ticking time bomb. My thoughts and prayers go to the brave men and women and their friends, families and fellow soldiers who were just doing their duty and were killed and injured by this maniac. God bless you all!! My heart and prayers go out to all of those affected by this tragedy in Fort Hood. I have a son that join the Army this summer and this hit very close to home for me. I can only imagine the pain that the Fort Hood family is feeling, and I pray that God wraps all those affected in his warmth and love. However, one thing that really bothers me is the apparent hatred and bigotry that is being posted to this Christian site. Is that really what Jesus wants us to do? Hatred begets more hatred and is one of the components that leads to war. We need to all search within our hearts to find more compassion and understanding. Who of us knows what really happened here? All of us need to understand the damage, pain and hatred that our words and actions can fuel in this world and stop! Love is not to be reserved for just our families and friends. Give LOVE away to all. [ Report Abuse ]

It is extremely sad that this happened. I am an army wife and my husband has orders to deploy in the spring. Obama PROMISED to bring our soldiers home. He has failed all of us by sending them or keeping them in Irak or Afghanistan. He is as guilty as the shooter!!! Obama knows NOTHING of the feeling of being sent off to a whole other country to risk your life so that HE can sleep comfortable in his bed at night. He Knows NOTHING of the feeling of your wife or husband leaving his family behind !!! Hope the president learns from all of this and starts to focus on his PROMISE!!! I am somewhat disappointed by some of the media reports. Instead of focusing on why this madman killed and wounded innocent people, they focus on the fact that Hasan is a Muslim and assume that since he is a Muslim, he must be a terrosit. FYI: Not all Muslims are terroists! The Islamic religion is a peaceful religion, based on prayer and meditation. The Muslim extremists are the people who twist and manipulate the Islamic scriptures to justify killing all non-believers. Please America, stop being so ingnorant! [ Report Abuse ]

I would just like to say thank you to all of our medics, emt's,firefighters, and police from all of the surrounding areas that responded to this horrific incident. My husband is a medic and was there also and it was very frightening for our family as well. Soldiers, civilians, families, and first responders that lived and witnessed this tragedy are in my thoughts. Here we are worried about terrorism and threats from other countries and then one of our very own opens fire taking innocent lives. I'm almost relieved that the "shooter" is alive so we can figure out what was going through his head and so the victims and their families can have some kind of closure. People are so quick to blame the army for incidents like this, but people need to take responsibility for themselves, if he had an issue whether it be PTSD or anything else for that matter, he should've seeked out help like anybody else. Our children and several generations from now will read about this in their history books. [ Report Abuse ]

Per NPR this morning, the Major was born in Arlington, VA, so he is a native US citizen. Per statement from the Imam at the mosque he attended while at Walter Reed, he is a lifelong Muslim, not a convert. That being said...given that he had been making what sounds like threatening remarks online for several months, given that he had supposedly received a poor rating at Walter Reed, given that he was slated to deploy soon, and given that he was seen just yesterday morning in "traditional Muslim attire," alarm bells should have been going off. He should have been evaluated for suitability for military service and, if found wanting, separated from the service. At the very least. Thanks to him, now all Muslims in the military will be suspect, no matter how faithfully they may have served. This is going to be very damaging. [ Report Abuse ]

I think that during this time that we try to keep in mind that although this is so horrible and unspeakable, we need to remember the family of the shooter, in our prayers. Thier lives have also just been turned upsidedown and devastated as well. It is important to pray for the shooter as hard as that might be for some right now. We need to reflect on how the Almish Country handled the terrible schoolhouse slaughter of 5 of thier own children and the forgiveness that they displayed to both the person responsible, though he had died, but also the forgiveness that they showed to the shooter's family. This will take time, but forgiveness will be key to healing for everyone. Instead of hate and vengence, which just breeds more hate and vengence, compassion and love heals the heart like nothing can. I DO NOT minimize what has happened and before you judge me and send hateful responses to this post, I have lived through a tragdy that required my forgiveness. In His Love. [ Report Abuse ]

The incident at Ft Hood is terrible. I just wish that media and "patriots" would quit looking for something to discriminate with. Behavioral health professionals deal with all kinds of bad things that we keep confidential. Nobody wants to hear that from any of us. And, NO that is not "cowardice" or "self-pity". (And yes, I have counseled military, and in TX during the first Gulf War too-so I do have some knowledge of what I talk about-before the attacks on me begin).- What about discrimination he dealt with? Can't be at war this long without "war weariness". NOT the first soldier to give away his things-be despereate not to be deployed or RE-deployed. Growing up, I heard stories of how my family (most all born & raised here) was treated during WWII era- Italians, Grandma adopted into a German family (all pre-War)- not allowed to work certain jobs just because. We haven't learned yet! [ Report Abuse ]

What bothers me ... As a military vet, and later student of Psychology... IS... WHY?! Why do people continue slipping through the cracks?! WHY are the signs being avoided, and the pieces of the puzzle NOT being put together before something tragic happens?! WHY did this man... feel that the death of others was the only course of action WHO put him there and why wasn't he himself given therapy OR the means to approach the aspects of his own field in better aspects and training after his own poor reflective aspects in his own career field... WHY were the WRONG questions asked, the WRONG methods approached WHY? WHY leads to how, how leads to when and where... The DOD seems to have this standard practice of just shuffling people around... Like cattle... IS this the effects? [ Report Abuse ]

I think it is said that a Army Doctor, let alone a Major would do something like this. It will make me and my soldiers worry next time they go to the doctor that is of a muslim back ground. This has been a problem since 2003 when a muslim soldier fragged his 1SG and CO in kuwait but, the army continues to recruit anyone with a heartbeat regardless of the danger it's all about the numbers. It is very sad what happened and my prayers go out to the families. bottom line is that the army need to better screening and back ground checks on all soldiers. [ Report Abuse ]

Sandy, I doubt the weapons were military. When deployed yes soldiers have their weapons but in the rear unit weapons are locked in the arms room. Even MP who carry weapons daily get off of duty, clear their weapons in the presence of an NCO or in somecases an Officer. When they turn their unloaded/cleared weapon in they also turn in their ammo. Allo weapons and ammo are verified by the arms room clerk who is on duty. Now to say my heart goes out to all those who lost someone and to all those with injured loved ones. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and also with the Ft. Hood community. I know that now should be a time of forgiveness but I'll wait until he has been punished for his cowardice crimes before I give my forgiveness. I hope the Army uses the military justice system and not the civilian system and that justice is swift and that punishment, if guilty, fits the crime. [ Report Abuse ]

I have been watching coverage of this tragedy for most of my evening switching back and forth from KWTX to another channel, and I have to say that though I did not enjoy hearing of this news it was a pleasure being informed by you. The coverage of this horrible day was raw and emotional. As anchors it is my belief that you are expected to remain stoic and provide the news without your personal feelings getting involved. Many of the other stations did just that. Your station, however, took an opposite approach. You allowed your true feelings of anger, frustration, shock, and sadness to be seen by all of us watching you. It touched my deeply to see how much you all truly cared for the fallen, the wounded and their families. I just wanted to say thank you for showing us a little of yourselves today. I believe that is how news should be done!Pease continue to inspire others to open up a little more with their feelings. Please keep up the wonderful coverage on this story also! Thank you!! i finally got off post and back home by 8:00 p.m. only to find out not only that this guy Hassan is still alive, but they are still claiming that he is the only shooter. earlier news reports (which i no longer give too much credit) said that 1 armed civilian officer (thought dead but is not) and 4 armed s.w.a.t.officers were also shot by this 1 guy who had 2 handguns. let's do the math...12 dead...31 wounded including a total of 5 armed officers, 4 of who were s.w.a.t. with flap jackets. who is this guy? superman? averaging 1 for 1 he'd have had to get off 43 rounds (at least) before he was neutralized. i give him 50 rounds (having ample time to change clips)and still see it near impossible to do this much damage and still get the drop on 5 trained armed officers if he were doing this all by himself. so far, this whole thing wreaks with secrets and coverups. i only hope that truth prevails.such ashame these poor soldiers had to be the victims. my prayers to all the families [ Report Abuse ]

I can't be more saddened than to hear of the incredible wickedness of a supposed Military Professional that could even come to reach the possibly of thinking that a 'Suicide Bomber' somehow equates to a 'Soldier that throws mself on a bomb to save his fellow Soldiers'; and then takes 2 pistols with 4 clips, and proceeds to kill 12 & injure 31. I can only say it is too bad that he is still alive (only wounded in capture), I'm sure he will be sentenced to death for high treason after much expense saving his life!! What a waste of taxpayers dollars, why do we send him to Temple with the real 'victims'? He should be on the fast track for court marshal. There isn't an insanmity plea for TREASON. [ Report Abuse ]

think me cruel or call me old-fashioned if you choose, but if that guy is still alive, I believe they should finish the job: Put the jerk in front of a FIRING SQUAD!!!! He has nobody to blame for what HE did. HE, however, took the lives of 12 innocent soldiers in cold blood. Soldiers that were someone's son, daughter, spouse, parent... 12 families lost someone this afternoon. 31 more are waiting and praying for a good outcome for their plight. 43 families are praying for resolution to this tragedy. His death would have given even a tiny bit of peace to them, that this man would never do it again... Now he's still alive, and they will have to agonize over trials and more, which could drag out for months or years before the families have their peace of mind... You tell me - is that justice? Terrible day for sure, but give LTG Cone a break, instead of distributing half truths and misinformation he wanted to make sure the info he put out was right the first time. As for the status of the shooter, it is common knowledge that Safeguard and Secure are two of the 5 S's for securing any prisoner, it could be that the status was put out to keep a group of angry vigilantes chasing down an ambulance to get him before he can be brought to trial. Rest assured that the shooter will pay for the pain he caused today. [ Report Abuse ]

Having spent 7 years at Ft. Hood, yes the base hospital and its personnel are good, but they are not a trauma center set up for mass casualties. They take the people in and stabilize them if need be, but they will send folks out to other facilities for surgery because they only have so many surgeons and surgical suites. The hospital also deploys its medical personnel, so that has led to a shortage of doctors in certain specialties---given that we are at war, guess where the specialists in gun shot wounds are?---that was a dumb comment. This many killed and injured in a civilian community would have been sent to more than one area hospital to get them care as quickly as possible as well. It would take longer to set up a MASH than it would take to get them to Scott and White in Temple, so that's the reasoning on that. [ Report Abuse ]

It would have been nice if these local news entities would do a more professional job of reporting real, serious news like this instead of being all on tv like they are in somebody's back yard having a gossip fest. How about reporting news that is correct. I had to look on CNN to find out that the gunman was still alive after listening to the locals say he was dead. [ Report Abuse ]

D in Clifton you should be ashamed of yourself. People lost their lives today and to turn this into a political thing about healthcare is just plain sick! Show some compassion and respect for those affected. Nodoby needs to justify why those people were treated off base to you. You should really take a step back and question your integrity. To use such a thing to further your personal views I'm ashamed to call you a fellow Texan. God bless our brave soldier and all of those touched by this tragedy. [ Report Abuse ]

Number one: Make sure that you are reporting the truth!!!!! EXAMPLE: shooter not dead!!!!!Keep the people off the TV that want attention. Just stop. Let the Army get to the bottom and they will releAse the information as needed. They have their own to save and try to comfort. Not worry about trying to please the press or people wanting attention. Space truth, and as we hear you did not have the facts straight. Now post this. To the families our prayers and the soldiers my heart. [ Report Abuse ]

OK, what's going on? First he's dead, now he isn't. But, what I find most interesting is that we don't seem to be getting the whole story. Now, I'm not some conspiracy theorist, I believe Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone for crying out loud, but police scanner traffic and on the ground reports spoke of more shots being fired on the post other than the ones we're now being told about. I smell a cover-up. [ Report Abuse ]

Lt. General Cone said that tommorrow was a day of mourning. Why is Fort Hood open and why are schools in session. Today was a tragedy and it breaks my heart that one of us did this. Some children are still not home. We should mourn our fallen and take this day to focus on security and safety of the post. Let us have our families for one extra day. I was one of the first responding ambulances on the scene of this tragic event. The reason behind using other ER's is a Paramedic has the choice of where he thinks his Patient will recieve the most appropriate car. So as for people blaming Ft. I was outside pulling weeds when I heard gun shots. I know the training facilities are far away enough to not hear the shots so loud. I thought it was fishy, so I went inside and saw on KWTX what had happened. My husband is in the Army, but thank goodness in the field 100's of miles away. Although, I was home by myself not even a mile away from where this was happening. I've been scared all day; my phone only accepted emergency calls out. I am so glad this is over, but what is going to come from it? How do we respond to this horrible event? As an Army wife I am sad, scared, worried, and confused. [ Report Abuse ]

I do not blame Ft Hood for not releasing information yet. They are trying to find out what is going on and you two keep saying "the world is waiting for information." It is more important the information given out is correct and does not give out too much info to hurt the integrity of the investigation, safety of persons that are involved are could be involved. I am so tired of the media demanding information. Just wait, when the information can be safety given out it will. Media keeps telling where the police force is at this guys house, etc. Great, tell the world where the cops are going so who ever is guilty can get away. Very smart. Go Fort Hood and American Soldier, we will keep you in our prayers!! Love our armed forces, pray for God to watch over you. [ Report Abuse ]

This was an unfortunate event that happened today. My husband was just a couple buildings down from the shooting, I was terrified that this was more than just a shooting. My father was called to come into work. This event will make Fort Hood stronger. I have never felt unsafe on this base until now. However, I do know that Fort Hood will increase security now. I will pray for those who have lost their loved ones, and those who are wounded. Every time you go on post you have to show an id, and I know the Fort Hood will have more than just that as of now. I also thank God my husband was not hurt, as well as my father. I thank god that this did not turn into more. Pray that anything like this does not happen again. [ Report Abuse ]

My husband is a soldier and we live on base housing. I've been hiding in a closet since 130pm. Around the time the tornado sirens started going off and along with that was a message telling us who live on ft hood to lock your windows and doors, turn of your ventilation, and hide. I shrugged it off until the alarms were ringing every five minutes. I hid in my closet, not really knowing what was going on. Suddenly the texts started coming in. There was a shooting, a mass murder on base.. and after that they said that the shooting started at The Soldier readiness building. My husband was supposed to be there at 1pm today.. little did I know he was sent to unload some weapons instead. 12 people died today.. over 30 were wounded. Friends of my husband were shot down today and murdered, by a fellow soldier.. We've been meeting once a week.. preparing for this upcoming deployment (they leave in January for 13 months) We are already so heavyhearted and now this. My husband is okay.. The hardest part is yet to come for the families my heart goes out to them, and I know what they are facing because this is bring up alot of feelings I had when I lost my Aunt in Oklahoma City at the hands of another American. That is the HARDEST part to understand how another American can do this. I'm not saying that 9/11 was not life changing for all of us as Americans but at least we could understand that was a terriost act by another country. This was another American regaurdless of his name, or his choice of belife the question that is going to take a long time to understand is "WHY". As a Vetern who returned from a deployment less than five months ago and left the Army two months ago, I'm really not surprised at this. The security to enter Fort Hood is so relaxed it is just crazy. They let almost anyone on with a picutre ID. Plus they have "Phantom Pass" which you just wave a card at a sensor and get on post. They hardly ever search vehicles. It is just a disgrace to for me to see these types of procedures in place. For people to blame this incident on PTSD is just silly. Soldiers know to get help and there are tons of options out there at far as counseling goes. I was on Fort Hood an hour before this incident took place with my 4 year old son. Thankfully we made it off post before this took place. I have had little contact with my husband who is still serving on Fort Hood just blocks away from his shop. I'm sure he will end up back on funeral detail. Thank you for all your information you have put out. My thoughts are with the families of the wounded and deceased. [ Report Abuse ]

Clearly gun-free environments don’t work. My son, a major in the Army Reserves, served 13 months in Iraq as a DoD civilian. He was required to carry a loaded handgun every minute he was there. If this happened on his base in Iraq he would have been able to fight back and possibly fewer would have been killed or wounded. But in Fort Hood he probably would be dead because soldiers there are disarmed most of the time. FBI statistics show that in 2006 police killed 376 bad guys and private citizens justifiably killed 241. Armed citizens make a difference in saving lives. Too bad the soldiers killed today were not armed. [ Report Abuse ]

I am very upset that this happened. Even more so, I'm upset that Fort Hood didn't take care of the civilians and Soldiers stuck on base while this violence occurred. I understand they were under lockdown and no one could leave or enter, but what about people who have disabilities and special conditions or are pregnant or nursing? My epileptic father and my nursing sister and her child were at Bennett Clinic during this occurrence, and my father wasn't given immediate medical treatment for his epilepsy (e.g. given epileptic medications) because he had to miss his medicine because of this ordeal. My sister cannot feed her child on an empty stomach. Plans need to be made and implemented for these kinds of things. Not only should this violence never have occurred, but the starvation and inept care of the people restrained because of these circumstances should also never have happened. We really need to get it together. Just because Soldiers say they're okay doesn't mean it's true! Wake up! [ Report Abuse ]

To the person who questioned victims being sent to an off-base hospital. P U L EEZE!! There were some 12 victims SERIOUSLY OR CRITICALLY INJURED. Handling that many injuries and the status of those injuries would not be in the best interest of the victims, i.e. if they had a choice to ship to another facility with more E.R. beds, ER personnel, advanced specialities, why not???? Sure a MASH unit could be set up but why . . . when there was a better choice. Please quit bashing the military. Please, please try remaining positive. Our soldiers and families need positive feedback - especially during this horrible event!! [ Report Abuse ]

I used to serve in First Team a few years ago before I was honorably discharged. It's sad to see violence on such a scale as this, especially in and around my boys and girls in uniform. I don't think I've heard such a thing since the PT attack at Fort Bragg, NC, more than a decade ago. I still have friends in 1CD that still work and live there in the area. If you're seeing this or hearing my words on TV, I'll be emailing you soon to make sure you're all right. In the meantime, this indeed is not the way we should recognize our first responders or future veterans of all ranks. This week, we should all fly our flags at half-staff for all those we've lost and be thankful for the ones we have with us. This indeed is a sad day, but, in due time, we will find our resolve and do more to prevent this from happening, and we will do our part to heal our communities -- military, police, fire, medical, and civilian alike. God Bless and have mercy upon us all... [ Report Abuse ]

this is tragic. all involved are in my prayers. on another note can the fort hood hospital not treat gunshot wounds? they are a military base. if this is as good as the government can take care of themselves how can they expect to have health care for everyone? sorry don't mean for this to be a sounding board about that. again all my prayers are for these victims and their families. My wife work in Fort Hood for 2 years and I would go in and out of there all the time i think that they need to take more time in securing the gates and also stop showing the maps of Fort Hood on t.v. thats all I need is for someone that would like to attack us here to have. As for the war it needs to come to a end before terrorist deside to attack more bases and our boys are deployed. [ Report Abuse ]

We are at war people. According to the news, the main shooter was a Sergeant Major who had recently converted to Islam. This is a case of not only terrorism but High Treason. It's time to get down to real business, blow these Middle Eastern countries back to days before man, and stop getting our soldiers killed in the Middle East and at home. [ Report Abuse ]

People need to keep conjecture to themselves, let III Corps tell what happened. As for the "spouse" who said the Army would med board anyone who need mental help is an idiot. The Army has come a long way. MFLC's, Military One Source, and the Army all have confidential programs to offer help. We don't know why he did this. I think Fort Hood is going to Black Flag a lot of the information given to us by the people that texted or phoned in information. They will probably hide information like they always do. Look at the Pentagon footage on September 11. Where is it all at? They are only going to tell us what they want us to know. [ Report Abuse ]

I think the woman (Samantha) talking live on the air right now shouldn't be giving so much information out. As tragic as this is, I hope that we as a community will recover from this tragedy and as scary as the sirens sounds, I am glad that Fort Hood has the emergency broadcast system and that lets the community know what to do in the face of danger. I am a SSG(P) in the Army who is due to report to Hood next week and this is also my hometown. Please...let's all come together. If you know someone who has been impacted by this, give them the comfort they need. Also, now is the time that we should also think about donating blood. For as long as I can remember, the blood bank on Fort Hood was always needing blood. So, if you're on post and want to do your part, I'm pretty sure one of those injured could use the blood. Also, I'm pretty sure the local hospitals may take blood donations as well. We are ARMY STRONG! [ Report Abuse ]

Our Prayers go out to Fort Hood and it's community. Some comments about the incident before all the facts are in are so wrong. To suggest we sell weapons for war savaged soldiers, blame Obama, or say this is the governments fault. It is a dishonor to those serving who fight for the government you get to complain about. And regardless of what a soldier thinks about the President, he is always respected and if the government didn't train somebody where would you be, because I see you failed to be trained. This is so scary and to close to home. Hearing the alert sirens and gun shots is terrifing and heart breaking knowing that in that instant someones life had changed forever is the worest of ways. I pray for all those killed and injured along with there families. It seems that of all place you should feel safe living it would be a military base. The shooters should have been shot on the spot instead of trying to take then into custody, lifes could have been saved. Please Pray for a end and for all of us on Ft Hood that are still in danger. Who in the world said " It's like 911 all over again " You must be out of your mind. This is awful but in no way near what 911 was. Just goes to show that there are sick people everywhere, in the military, in our neighborhoods, in our schools, in our churches. The enemy ( Satan ) is roaming the earth seeking who he can destroy. It's NOT the war, it's a spiritual war with the devil. Wake up people. [ Report Abuse ]

""""""""Honestly"""""""" What the "Heck" are "You" "saying". "I "DO" have"people" I "love and/or"care" about""" in the "armed" forces. "Army" Air Force "and" Marines. """""" Good enough"""" for "you"? "moron"

I HAVE TO SAY THAT AFTER WHAT HAPPENED AT FT.HOOD THE ARMY HAD BETTER PUT THAT MAN TO DEATH. I KNOW THEY HAVE NOT CARRIED OUT THE DEATH PENELTY SINCE ABOUT 1961 BUT I THINK IT IS PAST TIME. MY SON IS IN THE ARMY AND IT IS BAD ENOUGH THE SOILDERS ARE IN HARMS WAY OVERSEAS BUT THEY SHOULD BE SAFE AT HOME. AND IT IS THE MILITARYS PLACE TO SEE THEY ARE SAFE...
Don't really see a reason for all of the quotation marks.
"Yep"...anyone can be "questioned", there's no issue there. One the other side of that; there's no matter of being neither morally nor intellectually superior to "any" of you "dummies" being important to me. I'll not entertain that anymore for you, because you are already "well" read. I don't "have" to bash Bush... I've already mentioned "hindsight", and it IS 20/20! Let's just be sure our decisions today; tomorrow; and "election-time", that we make decisions that aren't "personal", but for the good of our Nation and it's tomorrow. I can understand your being "stupid" if you have no one in this world that you love or care about (a child/children..or anyone actively serving in the Armed Forces). I am not offended by someone that doesn't know how to read; nor understands what they are reading. I am "irritated" by the one that "doesn't" read, and then simply "repeats what they hear". Don't be that "silly" YEP. "Issues"; again, need to be the concerns...not personal opinion that equals "0.
Honestly, you honestly need to grow up. You start by being offended by someone daring to question Obama and in one instant you start bashing Bush. That makes you just as annoying and childish as the one you were chastising. And then of course you did it again this morning. I hate to break it to you slick, but you are in no way morally or intellectually superior to any of the people you were talking down to. On the contrary, if you have even a quotient of the sense you want people to think, then you should know better.
Yes, former President Bush and his wife were here this past Friday evening. No news cameras or reporters. Our current President will be here tomorrow once everything is set for a good "photo op".
Plato - Do you keep up with the news? President Obama is visiting Fort Hood Tuesday, or do you just set back and criticize the President of the USA like most republicans. Pay attention to facts.
"Plato"...please get "informed" before you post "blank" comments!!! President Obama "is" coming to Killeen/Ft. Hood. We definately appreciate this fact. I will close by "informing" you of the fact that his "predecessor" was here on a "private" visit last week, as he "should" have been. After all...."he" is responsible for most of what's going on today in our economy. This; of course, includes our involvement in "two" wars...and a Major Hasan. Get "informed"...not "offensive". Your comment holds no merit.
Where's Obama? He found time to go to Copenhagen and fail to bring back the Olympics. Obama was disrespectful at his presser for the massacre, and he won't come to Ft Hood as he loathes the military.
Lets not forget the child that Valdez was carrying.
This shooting at Ft. Hood WAS a terrorist attack. It may have been one lone terrorist; but it was a terrorist attack none the less. Maj. Hasan made it loudly and clearly known prior to opening fire on his victims that he was doing it in the name of "Alla" (don't know if I even spelled that right). I hope and pray that people don't start retaliating against Muslims or anyone they think looks like they might be. This would be violence also; and not to be condoned. But we do need to call what Maj. Hasan did what it is; a terrorist attack against Americans. Plain and simple.
I agree with 'Eric from Ft. Campbell', why is the media stressing the fact that the shooter was a Muslim, was that a factor? Let's all pray for those who were wounded to recover soon and for peace and comfort to the families and friends of the fallen. Whether or not the unborn child is counted among the losses that fateful day (and that may happen following the autopsies), God realizes that a life was lost and perhaps that is what really matters. As far as the President paying Ft. Hood a visit, he may or he may not - he is the President and he has a lot on his plate right now so if he decides not to show up it should not be viewed as a snub. Too many soldiers are so quick to criticize President Obama over anyting he does or doesn't do and some comments are downright disrespectful. In 29 years of service I've voted for and served under presidents from both major political parties but the one constant is that I gave the person in that office my 100% - I'm kinda sworn to do that.
Obama this..Obama that. Stop "whining" about YOUR former President's mistakes! You voted someone in Office that was and is "still" the cause of EVERYTHING we face as a Nation today!! We are still in "two" wars, our economy is finally beginning to recover "some". Yet some of you are "blaming" Mr. Obama for "your-guy's" GREED! Search and discover just how much wealthier Mr. Bush AND Mr. Cheney are now. No U.S. President nor Vice-President has left the White House wealthier! Focus on the "issues" and let's hope for resolution to them. We are hurting enough here in Killeen/Ft. Hood to not have issues being "faced". We live; work; and raise our families here..the same as many others across this great Nation does. Several of us believe that we will rise above this awful tragedy... and we "will". Let's send out our prayers to the victims and families of the victims. Not personal opinion that holds no merit, because "hind-sight" is 20/20. SUPPORT OUR TROOPS and our Nation's Leaders!
As an army wife I couldn't imagine this hitting so close to home because I consider all soldiers as a family. I am deeply sadden and disturbed that this man did a selfish act and that's not what the military stands for. I am proud of all that serves and selfishly give to others before themselves. The ones who helped the wounded are the real heros and Hasan was a coward. When you take that oath you make a promise to protect others and this country. I pray for the families of the fallen and injured. Every soldier joins knowing the risk and for that I'm thankful that they take it. I am proud of our troops for their sacrifices they make for this country. Unfortunely by reading some of these comments by mostly "civilians" they take this for granted, the fight the soldiers do for the ungreatful ones that take advantage. Please give your support to the troops, families, the fallen and injured. May God bless all who make the sacrifices to save us and keeps us protected.

hedid what a good muslim following the koran is told to do. a good muslim must kill all christens and jews and anyone else that is a threat to muslims. the major was a good muslim, all you need to do is by a koran and read it. he messed up though because his life was spared and he will not go to get his reward.
