Time Change Arrives Early Sunday Morning
You’ll get an extra hour of sunshine Sunday evening, but it will cost you an hour of sleep Sunday morning as most of the country springs forward to begin about eight months of Daylight Saving Time.

(March 13, 2010)—Daylight Saving Time begins at 2 a.m. Sunday and those who don’t remember to set clocks forward one hour Saturday night will be running late Sunday morning.

Daylight Saving Time ends at 2 a.m. on Nov. 7.

The government expanded the period in 2007 from the second Sunday in March until the first Sunday in November to save energy.

Some researchers disputed the effect an earlier daylight-saving period has on energy savings and opponents of the change ranged from operators of drive-in theaters, to people worried that children would be going to school in the dark.

Researchers also say it’s not unusual to feel a little fuzzyheaded in the days right after the time change.

It takes about a week for most people to adjust fully.

Fire officials are reminding residents to change smoke detector batteries.

The National Fire Protection Association says about two-thirds of home fire deaths occur in residences that don’t have working smoke alarms.

Smoke alarms fail most often because of missing, disconnected or dead batteries, fire officials say.

Most area fire departments will replace batteries for residents who are physically unable to install them.

Please prove to me that We get an extra hour by having to do yet another Government controlled time change!! Retired or Farming people ,the Day is still the same!! Just leave the Time one way or another(DST, or CST). But 'PLEASE' check/change your batteries in your Smoke Detectors, and/or go buy one/some!! Thank You!
