Belton, TX –University of Mary Hardin-Baylor football player Jerrell Freeman has been selected to play in the 2007 Aztec Bowl in Chihuahua, Mexico on December 8th. Freeman, a senior linebacker from Waco University High School, is one of five linebackers named to the active roster. He will only play in the Aztec Bowl if UMHB is eliminated from the NCAA Division III National Championships this weekend. Freeman leads the Cru with 96 total tackles and 16.5 tackles for loss this season. He also has 6.0 sacks and seven pass break-ups on the season. Freeman has forced two fumbles and also blocked a punt that he returned for a touchdown. He is the sixth UMHB player selected to play in the Aztec Bowl, a game that pits a team of Division III all-stats against Mexico’s national champion. The 2007 Aztec Bowl will be played at Estadio Olimpico in Chihuahua and will kick off at 6:00 PM Central Time on Saturday, December 8th.

The Cru is currently 11-1 on the season and will play in the NCAA Division III National Quarterfinals this Saturday. UMHB will face Wesley College (11-1) in an 11:00 AM kickoff in Dover, Delaware.
