(June 11, 2008)--Texas Tech coach Mike Leach has suspended two players for the 2008 season for violating team rules.

Running back Koby Lewis was listed as backup on the spring roster, and Steven Harris was the No. 3 free safety.

Both will remain at Tech, but Leach tells the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal they won't return to the team anytime soon. Leach declined to elaborate on reasons for the suspensions.

Lewis, a junior, was part of a four-way battle at running back during spring practice. He had 50 carries for 189 yards and 24 catches for 178 yards last season.

Harris, a sophomore, was getting notice on kick coverage last year.
