(July 3, 2008)--Last week, Phil Steele ranked Baylor's 2008 football schedule as the seventh toughest in the country, and a poll released by the Sporting News on Wednesday backs up that claim.

In the Sporting News' preseason poll, nine of the 12 teams Baylor will play in '08 are ranked in the Top 50.

50) UConn

48) Texas A&M

44) Oklahoma State

40) Nebraska

24) Wake Forest

20) Texas Tech

11) Texas

6) Missouri

4) Oklahoma

The publication ranked Georgia number one. Baylor opens the Art Briles era on August 28th in Waco against Wake Forest.

Have no fear Coach Briles is here! He turned Stephenville High School football team into a powerhouse & heck he can do the same with the Baylor Bears. Those 9 teams being ranked in the top 50 will make the victories that much sweeter. The Bears could go undefeated and maybe win a championship. I know this sounds like fantasy football but Artie is a mastermind when it comes to football. I predict that he will be the Big XII coach of the year in his freshman season. Go Bears!
