(August 5, 2008)--Baylor will face Providence College on Thursday, Nov. 27, in game four of the 2008 Anaheim Classic on ESPN2, ESPN Regional Television announced Tuesday. Tip-off is slated for 10:30 p.m. (CST).

The second-year event, which be held Thanksgiving weekend at the Anaheim Convention Center adjacent to Disneyland, will include 12 games in three days and will be broadcast on ESPN2 and ESPNU. The 2008 Anaheim Classic features eight schools that combined to win more than 62 percent of their games last season.

Baylor is one of three teams in the tournament that earned a 2008 NCAA Tournament berth, along with Cal State Fullerton of the Big West and St. Mary’s of the West Coast Conference. Arizona State and Charlotte participated in the National Invitational Tournament (NIT) and UTEP was invited to the inaugural College Basketball Invitational (CBI). Providence and Wake Forest complete the Anaheim Classic field.

“We’re pleased to have such a competitive field and outstanding pairings in our second season of the Anaheim Classic,” ESPN Regional Television senior vice president and general manager Pete Derzis said.

The Big West Conference will serve as the host for the Anaheim Classic at the 7,800-seat Anaheim Convention Center, which has served the conference for the past eight years as the site of its postseason tournament.

Baylor is coming off its most successful season in decades and will suit up an experienced squad in 2008-09. The Bears, who finished fourth in the Big 12 Conference and played in their first NCAA Tournament in 20 years last season, return eight of their top nine players and their top five scorers.

Tickets to the 2008 Anaheim Classic will go on sale Monday, Aug. 18, at Ticketmaster.com or by calling (714) 704-2000. Packages include all 12 games for $75 or single-session tickets for $15. Special travel package information can be found at www.GETTRAVEL.com. Additional tournament information can be on the Anaheim Classic web site at www.anaheimclassic.com.
