Sprinter Marion Jones Released From Federal Prison Save Email Print

A | A | A

(September 5, 2008)--Disgraced former sprinter Marion Jones was released from federal prison Friday in Texas after completing her sentence for lying about her steroid use.

She was released from a halfway house in San Antonio Friday morning after serving most of her six-month sentence for lying to federal investigators about her use of performance-enhancing drugs.

An admitted steroid dealer testified that he gave Jones a cocktail of steriods before the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney.

She was stripped of her five medals in 2007 after admitting that she used the drugs.

she is a strong women and will continue on with her life. SHe made a big mistake and had to pay for it but prison! We have people out there dealing drugs who get a slap on the hand parol. Yes what she did was wrong but did she deserve prison? I don't think so we need to save the space for our drug dealer, gang bangers, and child molestors.

Now comes the hard part.... rebuilding her life. Society is not forgiving and will try to keep her down. There are no progarms for federal ex-inmates to help. I pray for her and hope everything will be okay.
