Texas Sports Hall Of Fame Announces 2008 Class

2008 class for the Texas Sports Hall of Fame.

(September 15, 2008)--San Diego Chargers running back LaDainian
Tomlinson and Houston Astros first baseman Lance Berkman head the
2008 class for the Texas Sports Hall of Fame.
The class announced today also includes:
-- former University of Texas and Philadelphia Eagles defensive
back Bill Bradley
-- Dallas Cowboys linebacker Lee Roy Jordan
-- University of Texas running back Steve Worster
-- former UT Longhorns basketball coach Abe Lemons
-- NASL soccer player Kyle Rote Junior
-- and UT women's basketball player Clarissa Davis-Wrightsil.
Tomlinson was a standout at University High School in Waco
before playing in college at TCU, where he led the nation in
rushing in 1999 and 2000. In seven seasons with the Chargers,
Tomlinson has rushed for 10,650 yards and scored 129 touchdowns.
Berkman is a Waco native who was an All-American outfielder at
Rice and is in his ninth season with the Astros. He has 279 home
runs and 913 RBI and a .304 batting average in his Major League
career.
