Former Baylor Lady Bear Angela Tisdale has been recognized for her contributions to the game of basketball with the unveiling of her jersey in the Ring of Honor display at the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame in Knoxville, Tenn.

(October 1, 2008)--Former Baylor Lady Bear Angela Tisdale has been recognized for her contributions to the game of basketball with the unveiling of her jersey in the Ring of Honor display at the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame in Knoxville, Tenn.

The distinction comes after Tisdale's outstanding play during the 2007-08 season. The Austin, Texas, native completed her senior season averaging a team-leading 16.4 points a game from the point guard position. With Tisdale on the squad, the Lady Bears were selected to the NCAA Tournament all four seasons, Baylor won the 2005 NCAA championship her freshman season. As a senior, Tisdale led the Lady Bears to a 25-7 mark and a second place Big 12 Conference finish.

Tisdale, an All-Big 12 first-team selection, was also chosen as an honorable All-American by both the Associated Press and the WBCA.

"The Ring of Honor is an exhibit at the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame where we honor the nation's top players at every level," said Karen Tucker, Director of Basketball Relations for the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame. "To have your jersey on display at the Hall of Fame is a huge privilege and we are proud to celebrate the accomplishments of these young athletes."

Currently, the Ring of Honor consists of over 100 jerseys hanging from the rafters of the back rotunda at the Hall of Fame. The display includes jerseys of the top high school and college players from the 2007-08 season as well as the 2007 WNBA All-Stars.

The Women's Basketball Hall of Fame, opened in 1999, is located in Knoxville, Tenn. The Hall of Fame is the only facility of its kind, dedicated to all levels of women's basketball.
