(June 14, 2006)—Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade says he’ll play in Game 4 of the championship series against Dallas despite a knee injury. Wade didn't practice Wednesday because of the left knee injury he sustained in Game 3 of the NBA finals with Dallas, but he plans to be on the court Thursday night in Miami. The Mavericks are up 2-1 in the best-of-seven series. Wade had 42 points Wednesday night in Miami's 98-96 victory. Wade says his knee is sore and swollen. He'll undergo treatment, but doesn't expect a painkilling injection, which he's taken in each of the last two playoff seasons for various maladies. Wade was defending Maverick Adrian Griffin at the top of the key, then dropped down to help Antoine Walker when Josh Howard had the ball in the corner. Howard cut to the middle of the lane and charged into Shaquille O'Neal who fell backward, his left shoulder slamming into Wade's left knee. More News >>Sports >> Weather >>
