(October 10, 2008)--Shawne Williams is getting a new start in
the NBA.
Dogged by three incidents involving police in the past 13 months, he's been traded by the Indiana Pacers to Dallas.
In exchange for future draft picks, cash and possibly another
player, his agent said Friday.
The 6-foot-9 forward will be reunited with new Mavericks coach
Rick Carlisle, who coached the Pacers when Indiana drafted him out
of Memphis.
Williams' agent Happy Walters says Indiana would get two
second-round draft picks as part of the trade.
Williams is expected to fly to Dallas tomorrow.
