(October 23, 2008)--The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor football team will hit the road for the longest road trip and final non-conference game of the season this weekend. The Cru will travel to Ashland, Oregon to take on Southern Oregon University in a 3:00 PM Central Time kickoff. The Cru is currently 6-0 overall and has a 5-0 mark in American Southwest Conference play on the year. The Raiders are 2-5 overall and are coming off a 16-14 victory over Azusa Pacific University last weekend. The two teams will be meeting for the first time and there is no doubt that SOU has the Cru’s attention.

“All you have to do is watch the film and it really wakes you up,” UMHB head coach Pete Fredenburg said. “They are huge and they can really get your blood pressure up. They look much better than their record would indicate. This will be a huge challenge for us and we’re going to have to be ready to play on Saturday.”

UMHB is 5-2 all-time against NAIA school and the Cru has won five straight meetings against NAIA programs. That record includes a 30-7 victory over Southern Nazarene University in the 2008 season opener for the Cru.
