BELTON (April 16, 2009)--The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor football team collected nearly $2,600 and four boxes of shoes to donate to orphans in Haiti during yesterday’s Sole 2 Soul campaign.

The campaign was spearheaded by the work of sophomore offensive lineman Max Taylor and all of the shoes and money will be delivered through the charity Hope for the Hungry. Students, faculty and staff at UMHB also went without shoes on campus Wednesday to experience what life is like for the orphans with no shoes. Students, faculty and staff also had the chance to donate shoes, buy new shoes or contribute money during the one-day campaign.
