WACO (April 26, 2009)--Former Baylor offensive tackle Dan Gay went unselected in the 2009 NFL Draft. However, just minutes after the conclusion of the seven round event, Gay told News 10 that he had agreed to terms with the San Diego Chargers on an undrafted free agent contract.

The Chargers rewarded the Lafayette, Louisiana native with a signing bonus higher than any signing bonus the franchise awarded any undrafted free agent in 2008.

Gay played in 40 games for Baylor from 2005-2008, starting in a team-leading 34 consecutive contests on the offensive line to end his career. The Right Tackle was Baylor's 2007 Most Improved Player and was named All-Big 12 Conference Honorable Mention in 2007 and 2008. Gay was selected to play in January's 84th Annual East-West Shrine Game and invited to the NFL Scouting Combine to be held February in Indianapolis.
