Texas Baseball Takes Series From Texas A&M

AUSTIN (May 10, 2009)--Tim Maitland had a two-run single in a
five-run first inning for Texas, which held on to beat Texas A&M
5-4 on Sunday.

Texas capitalized on three walks and two errors in the first.
The Aggies outhit the Longhorns 13-5 but committed three errors.

Brandon Loy also had an RBI for the Longhorns (36-12-1, 17-9-1
Big 12).

Joe Patterson went 2-for-4 and batted in two runs for Texas A&M.
Kyle Colligan and Caleb Shofner also had RBIs for the Aggies
(33-18, 14-10), who put together a three-run third inning.

Texas reliever Austin Dicharry (6-1) got the win, giving up one
run on one hit over 2 1-3 innings. Austin Wood pitched 2 2-3
innings, giving up no runs on three hits, to earn his 13th save.

Texas A&M starter Barret Loux (3-2) gave up five runs, none of
them earned, to take the loss. Loux gave up two hits before being
replaced by Kyle Thebeau in the first inning.
