WACO (July 22, 2009) - After releasing their non-conference schedule earlier in the month, the Baylor Lady Bears’ Big 12 Conference schedule has been finalized, head coach Kim Mulkey announced today.

Mulkey and her young squad, after welcoming the new year with a home contest against Texas State (Jan. 2), will begin the Big 12 schedule with three road games and three home games during the month of January. For the third straight season, the Lady Bears will open league play on the road when they travel to Oklahoma State for a Saturday, Jan. 9 contest. Next up are two home games when Baylor hosts defending Big 12 champion Oklahoma (Wed., Jan. 13) and Nebraska (Sat., Jan. 16). After a Jan. 20 open date, the Lady Bears hit the road for a contest at Missouri, Sat., Jan. 23, followed by a Ferrell Center matchup against Texas A&M (Wed., Jan. 27). Baylor closes out the month at Texas, Sunday, Jan. 31.

The Lady Bears stay on the road to open the month of February, traveling to Manhattan, Kan., for a Wed., Feb. 3 contest against Kansas State. After hosting Colorado on Sunday, Feb. 7, Baylor will play at Oklahoma (Wed., Feb. 10) and at Iowa State (Sat., Feb. 13). Back-to-back home games with Texas Tech (Wed., Feb. 17) and Oklahoma State (Sat., Feb. 20) precede a road trip to Texas A&M on Monday, Feb. 22. The Lady Bears’ final game of the month is on Sunday, Feb. 28 when they host Kansas.

The conference portion of Baylor's schedule will be completed in March as the Lady Bears play at Texas Tech (Wed., March 3) and host Texas on Sunday, March 7.

“As usual, the Big 12 Conference is one of the toughest leagues in the nation top-to-bottom, you can never look past anyone. We have a young squad this season but one that features a lot of quickness, size and athleticism. Hopefully, our non-conference schedule will prepare us for league play,” said Mulkey.

The 2010 Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship will return for the ninth time to Memorial Auditorium in Kansas City, Mo., March 11-14. First-round action will take place on Thursday with quarterfinals on Friday, semifinals on Saturday and the final on Sunday.

Mulkey’s 2009-10 roster is a young one with one senior, three juniors, four sophomores and five freshmen. The returning Lady Bears welcome the nation’s consensus No. 1 recruiting class to the court, headlined by the nation’s top recruit in 6-8 post Brittney Griner.

Season ticket renewal forms are due July 24. For additional season ticket information, contact the Baylor Athletic Ticket Office call 1-800-BAYLORU or 254-710-1000 or visit BaylorBears.com.
