EDINBURG (July 29, 2009)--A new arrest warrant has been issued for former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Quincy Carter after Carter failed to appear in a Hidalgo County state district court in Edinburg for two hearings on marijuana possession and drunken driving charges.

Carter, 31, was arrested in February in Mission shortly after a deal for him to play for the Rio Grande Valley Dorados of the arenafootball2 league fell apart.

Carter's attorney, Christ Weaver, told The Monitor of McAllen that Carter may not have known about the court dates because they hadn't spoken in two weeks.

The Abilene Ruff Riders of the Indoor Football League cut Carter earlier this month.
