MCGREGOR (October 13, 2009)--Dave Campbell’s Texas Football is proud to announce that the McGregor High School Bulldogs football team has been named the Army Strong Team of the Week for Division 2A.

The McGregor Bulldogs were chosen for this honor because of their teamwork, dedication, discipline, personal courage and integrity, values shared by U.S. Army Soldiers.

“The McGregor Bulldogs remained undefeated despite being underdogs to rival Crawford in a critical district matchup this weekend,” said Adam Hochfelder, general manager of Dave Campbell's Texas Football. “Leading 10-7 in the fourth quarter, the Bulldogs clung to a narrow victory by holding the Pirates without a single yard in the final frame.”

The award will be presented to the team at a time to be determined later this week by a representative of the U.S. Army.

"The U.S. Army is recognizing the student-athletes at McGregor High School for demonstrating qualities similar to those exhibited by its Soldiers. Student-athletes and Soldiers share similar values, but more importantly they must be mentally, emotionally and physically strong," said Captain Gary Ward. "We expect to see some of these young men competing at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl, the college level, or maybe even professionally in the future."
