UMHB's Miller Honored
University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men’s soccer player Mark Miller has been named American Southwest Conference Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending October 25th.

BELTON (October 26, 2009)--University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men’s soccer player Mark Miller has been named American Southwest Conference Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending October 25th.
Miller, a junior goalkeeper from Wichita Falls Rider High School, posted a pair of shutouts in goal for the Cru as the UMHB men nailed down the ASC’s top seed and clinched the right to host the ASC Championship Tournament.
Miller opened the week with 10 saves in a 1-0 victory over Hardin-Simmons University. He then added five more saves in a 4-0 win over McMurry University to close out the week.
Miller now has nine shutouts on the season and lowered his goals against average to 0.47 for the year.
This is Miller’s second ASC Defensive Player of the Week honor this season.
The Cru men are currently 13-2 overall and have an 11-1 mark in ASC play. The UMHB men will close out the regular season with a 3:00 PM start at Howard Payne University this Saturday.
The Cru men will then return home to host the ASC Championship Tournament for the first time in the program’s history.
The 2009 ASC Championship Tournament will be played November 6th through 8th at the Cru Sports Plex.
