Former University High Standout Named Thorpe Award Semifinalist
Oklahoma state cornerback Perrish Cox of Waco is a semifinalist for the Jim Thorpe Award.

STILLWATER, Okla. (November 4, 2009)--Oklahoma State cornerback Perrish Cox is one of 12 semifinalists for the Jim Thorpe Award, which is named for Oklahoma native Jim Thorpe and is given each year to the top college defensive back.
Other Big 12 players named semifinalists are Darrell Stuckey of Kansas and Earl Thomas of Texas.
The semifinalists will be cut to three finalists on Nov. 23 and the winner will be announced Dec. 10.
A formal banquet and official award presentation will be on Feb. 9 in Oklahoma City.
