(April 8, 2007)--Winter still won't give way to the baseball season in parts of the northern US.
For a third day, it's too cold and snowy to play ball in Cleveland.
The Indians and the Seattle Mariners were hoping to play two games Sunday, to make up for the two they were supposed to play Saturday, to make up for the one they had to abandon on Friday.
They'll try again Sunday to play two of the four games that had been scheduled.
The fans at Saturday’s Twins-White Sox game in Chicago were bundled up as if they were watching football, not baseball.
Players and umpires had their ears covered.
The game-time temperature was 31, with a 20-degree wind chill.
White Sox first-basemen Paul Konerko says it's probably the coldest weather he's ever played in.
The minor-league Portland Sea Dogs in Maine are still trying to play their home opener.
This is the fourth straight day it's been canceled, after a storm that dumped 12 inches of snow.
They'll try again Monday if the weather and the field conditions allow.
