UMHB Women's Soccer Players Honored
The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women’s soccer team placed seven players on the American Southwest Conference All-Conference Teams released today.

BELTON (November 12, 2009)--The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women’s soccer team placed seven players on the American Southwest Conference All-Conference Teams released today.
The Cru women placed one player on the All-Conference First Team, placed three players on the All-Conference Second Team, had one Third Team selection and a pair of Honorable Mention All-Conference picks.
Freshman Camryn Powell also took Co-Defensive Freshman of the Year honors.
Mickie Arredondo was named All-Conference First Team. Arredondo, a senior forward from Bryan High School, scored 12 goals and added two assists for 26 total points this season.
She also scored two game-winning goals.
Powell, Erin Salyer and Lexy Smith were all voted to the All-Conference Second Team. Powell, a freshman defender from Frisco High School, also shared Freshman Defensive Player of the Year honors with Kelli Hill of U.T.-Tyler.
Powell started every game for the Cru and was one of the top defensive players for a team that posted eight shutouts and allowed just 25 goals on the year.
Salyer, a junior forward from Keller High School, led the Cru with 13 goals, seven assists and 33 total points.
Salyer also scored a team-best four game-winning goals.
Smith, a sophomore midfielder from Belton High School, scored six goals and added five assists for 17 total points.
She also had a pair of game-winning goals.
Angel Kemmerer was voted to the All-Conference Third Team.
Kemmerer, a sophomore midfielder from Little Elm High School, had six goals and an assist for 13 total points.
She also scored two game-winning goals.
Jordan Powers and Allyson Sargeant were both named Honorable Mention All-Conference.
Powers, a freshman midfielder from Deer Park High School, was a key defensive player and also added three goals, four assists and 10 total points this season.
Sargeant, a senior goalkeeper from Bryan High School, held opponents to a 1.69 goals against average this season.
She posted 63 saves and added three shutouts for the Cru.
This is the third All-Conference selection for Arredondo and the Second All-Conference selection for Smith, Sargeant and Salyer.
Powell, Kemmerer and Powers are all first time All-Conference selections.
The Cru women finished the 2009 season with a 12-6 overall record and a 10-3 mark in ASC play.
The UMHB women advanced to the ASC Tournament and opened the tournament with a 1-0 victory over East Texas Baptist before falling to Hardin-Simmons in the semifinals.
The Cru women set school records for victories in a season and conference wins in a season this year.
UMHB also won an ASC Tournament game for the first time in the program’s history.
