Belton, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor football team will face a pair of perennial postseason contenders along with an eight-game American Southwest Conference slate during the 2007 season. The Crusaders released the upcoming schedule today.

UMHB will kick off the 2007 season with back-to-back home games. The Cru will face 2006 playoff qualifier Christopher Newport on September 8th in the opening game of the 2007 season. That game kicks off at 6:00 PM as one of two home night games on the schedule. UMHB’s other non-conference game will match the Cru against back-to-back national runners-up Wisconsin-Whitewater on October 27th in UMHB’s first trip to the state of Wisconsin. UMHB will open ASC play at home against Sul Ross State with a 1:00 PM kickoff on September 15th. The first road game for the Cru comes the next week on September 22nd with a 1:00 PM start against Texas Lutheran University in Seguin. The schedule also includes home conference games against McMurry University, Louisiana College and East Texas Baptist University. The LC game will be a 6:00 PM kickoff for the second night game on the schedule. Everything else is an afternoon start. UMHB will also make road trips to Hardin-Simmons University, Mississippi College and Howard Payne University.

The Crusaders finished the 2006 season with a 10-3 overall record and an 8-0 mark in ASC play. UMHB won the ASC Championship and advanced to the National Quarterfinals of the NCAA Division III National Championships before falling to Wesley College 34-20. Season tickets for the 2007 UMHB football season will go on sale in August.
